Words Adrift
A quiet place for words · iPhone

A few words.
A life beyond you.

Write briefly. Read slowly.
Let your words find a sound.

Release your words into the care of strangers, and encounter a few words from elsewhere.

Discover the rhythm

Preparing for our first release.

01 / Our rhythm

Enough room
to pay attention.

1

Release

One Fragment a day, when you wish. Private drafts can wait.

5

Arrivals

Our starting rhythm: up to five new Arrivals a day. Words arrive in their own time.

10

Encounters

Each Journey makes room for ten different readers before it comes to rest.

These are boundaries, not targets. There is no quota to fill.

02 / After reading

Let words stay.
Or let them travel.

Keep saves words privately. Interpret begins your own writing with attribution. Pass gives the same words another Journey.

A guide to these gestures

Reading is enough.

No likes, followers or public popularity counts. No infinite feed. Writers do not see who kept their words.

A Fragment can travel, rest, and perhaps return. Attention need not become performance.

03 / Words and sound

Hear the shape
of a few words.

Sound accompanies the words you write and the words you encounter. Sonification gives written language a musical expression: notes, pauses and harmony, alongside an optional spoken reading.

As you write.

Each character brings a note. Spaces turn its direction; line breaks bring it home. A gentle musical drift follows the movement of your writing.

As you listen.

A Fragment becomes a small listening moment. Its phrasing and musical structure travel with it, while your chosen key, scale and listening preferences make room for your own way of hearing.

Sound is optional. Your words remain yours, and silence is always welcome.
